About us

The "Grab for Goodness Clothes Donation Club" stands as a beacon of altruism, aiming to make a tangible, positive impact within our community and beyond through the simple yet profound act of donating clothes. United by a common purpose, we gather not just to give but to embody compassion and to forge a palpable difference in the lives of those grappling with need. Our ethos champions the concept that donation transcends mere action—it is an embodiment of a caring lifestyle.

Our mission is rooted in the understanding that inadequate clothing can profoundly affect an individual's health and well-being, more so under the harshness of severe weather. Particularly in regions torn by conflict, uprooted by displacement, or shattered by natural disasters, the lack of proper attire can intensify the already dire conditions.

At the helm of our club is Karen Tang, a dedicated and visionary student from New Canaan High School's class of 2025. Karen brings an infectious passion for sustainable fashion and responsible consumption to the forefront. Her guiding principle is a future where the choices we make minimize their footprint on our planet while also celebrating individual creativity and expression. As our leader, Karen is a beacon of inspiration, spearheading this vital cause and instilling a wave of positive change. Her mission is grand yet intimate—spreading goodness to every corner of our world.

In partnership with Good360—a non-profit organization committed to responsible product philanthropy—we are expanding our horizons. Good360's mission is to bridge the gap between businesses with surplus goods and the non-profit entities that serve those in need, ensuring that excess is transformed into essential support for communities.

Our club convenes once monthly—specifically on the first Wednesday after school of each month—to strategize and mobilize our clothing collection efforts.

Our vision is straightforward yet bold: to amass gently used clothing and shepherd it to those standing in the gap of necessity. By collaborating with Good360, renowned for its expertise in product donation logistics, we broaden our outreach beyond the confines of our school, connecting with an array of non-profits and communities eager for support.

Our journey is one that commences with empathy. We recognize the stark reality that not all have the luxury of adequate warm clothing during times of bitter cold or following natural calamities. This awareness fuels our united resolve to transform this narrative. By initiating clothing drives, we call upon our peers and the greater community to rally—to declutter their wardrobes, to act with intention, and to contribute to a movement that transcends individual benefit, knitting together a tapestry of generosity that warms bodies and hearts alike.
